Not A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Haven't quite put the finishing touches on my Spruce Mix tree just yet but found this amazing photo on pinterest so I had to try out my camera skills for the (semi) same effect. Not gonna lie, took me awhile & it was a little frustrating but love the results. Basically, this is how I blew my fuse last wk. :)

Pieces: Thanksgiving Wknd Edition.
1. ipad cooking ftw, mom's birthday balloons table cover not so much.
2. hardware for my fingers.
3. Thanksgiving dinner setup before all the food, mayhem & kids proclaiming their need to sit at the "adult table".
4. Charlie in one of her many Christmas shirts (poor baby was sick all wknd w/an eye infection)
5. Jamz & Charlie canoodling.
6-10. tree-lighting ceremony @Rice Park complete w/a fireworks show, carolers, hot cocoa, iceskating & most importantly, lots of lights.
11. sneakpeek of a photoshoot I did over the wknd w/Mel & Mina to help out our very talented photog-genius friend, Chris McDuffie featuring the beautiful Alyssa Kay w/makeup/hair by Julie Lam. (More photos to come)
Hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving weekend - I know I enjoyed being around family, eating Thanksgiving din leftovers for 3 days straight and partaking in holiday-related festivities - including the tree-lighting ceremony, making Christmas crafts and watching 'Arthur Christmas' - how can you say no to anything w/James McAvoy (even if it's just his voice)? #bliss
"Life itself is a gift. It's a compliment just being born: to feel, breathe, think, play, dance, sing, work, make love, for this particular lifetime. Today, let's give thanks for life. For life itself. For simply being born!" - via quotebook.
*cheers!

All the Trimmings.
Anyone that knows me knows that I lurve Christmas. And anyone that's friends w/me on fbook has pra unsubscribed to my account due to my overload of Xmas-related tweets. Yikes. Just wanted to share a makeshift centerpiece I made for the coffee table & a sneakpeak at my tree (it's a week-long process to get it right).
Have a happy (GAGA) Thanksgiving y'all!

Project Healthy Smile.
maybe you already know this, but i really love my utility/cargo jacket. in fact, i have 2 of them. i've always had a strong liking for slightly masculine things, most recently i found myself perusing the perfume aisle @ sephora searching for the perfect scent only to end up falling in love w/the Chanel Bleu for MEN. : x
PS. I entered this outfit in 'Chictopia's Week of Giving' Contest, where we dedicate our outfit post to a charity, whoever gets the most 'favorited' post, Chictopia will donate $$ corresponding with the # of entries to that charity, so ie. 1000 entries = $1000 to your charity. I chose Project Healthy Smile not only because it's co-founded by one of my favorite local stylists (Hollie Mae) but also because it's a simple, effective way of keeping kids healthy - it starts with a smile (a healthy one)! You can favorite my outfit here. Even if you don't favorite my post, enter the contest yourself because more entries = more $$ to the winning charity. Thanks much! xx, davee
